Film Submission Terms & Conditions
The 8th Kosmorama Trondheim International Film Festival will be held March 19 to March 25, 2012.
- The call for entries for the International New Directors Film Competition is open to works of any genre and language of feature film length (minimum 70 minutes).
- The film has to be the first, second or third feature film by the director.
- The film must have been completed after January 1st, 2011.
- Priority will be given to Nordic premieres.
- Entries must be registered on our festival Visitor Page (https://vp.eventival.eu/kosmorama/Kosmorama).
- Entries must be submitted on DVD or Blu-Ray for our consideration. We will also accept Online Screeners.
- Included with the entry should be high-resolution film stills, portrait of the Director, Director biography/filmography and short synopsis of the film.
- Please mark your DVD og Blu-Ray with title, length and contact information.
- Our selection committee will make the programming decisions. If accepted we will notify the filmmakers by email. Films not accepted into the program will be notified but we will not give any reason for a possible refusal.
- Screening material submitted will not be returned. Please do not send original materials.
- Notices of acceptance will be sent out no later than February 15th 2012.
- If a film is accepted, entrants are responsible for making sure there is a film copy available for screening.
- Acceptable screening formats are 35 mm film and DCP (Digital Cinema Package). Other screening formats can be considered individually.
- If accepted into our program, the director or producer will be invited to attend our festival. We will cover travel expenses and two nights in hotel.
- Films must be screened in their original language. If not in English, the film must be presented with English subtitles. If no English subtitled print is available, the festival will consider using an electronic subtitling system. If this is the case, a dialogue list in the original language and in English must be made available to the festival along with a DVD of the film in question.
- The competition will have a jury consisting of three people who will consider all the films during the festival period and present the winner of the award at the final day of the festival.
- The DEADLINE for submission is January 1st 2012. Entries will not be accepted after this deadline. The dvd screener must be postmarked by this date.
