Welcome to Kosmorama Trondheim international filmfestival! Kosmorama is a well-established festival that considers itself to be a different filmfestival, and has boldly enough pondered on the idea that few things are as catching as enthusiasm and joy of life. In short - if we are having a good time, everybody else will too.

The festival opens Monday the 4th of April with Kosmorama`s tremendous awardshow! The Canon Price is the film industry`s own industry price, where the unions select the best of the best. In a show packed with surprices we will hand out a total of twelve awards.

A Champion is visiting

We`re very proud to present star director Alexander Payne as this year`s guest of honour.
Alexander Payne has been called one of the most unique filmmakers of today. His films are known for their dark sense of humour and the satirical portraits of the modern American society. He focuses on storytelling and interpersonal relationships, rather than using expensive special effects and getting actors from the A-list.
Alexander Payne will be in Trondheim throughout the festival. In addition to a retrospective of his films, there will be an opportunity to learn more about him at a Master meating, led by Gunnar Rehlin.

Family Style Dinner

Family Style Dining is all about seeking back to the traditional, comforting and close family community, back to when the dinner itself was the most important social event. To us Norwegians, this important ritual is gradually disappearing.
And that`s exactly why we especially notice the large Greek or Italian families; with their loud and extravagant ways, gathering around a big table with an abundance of food. In our own, private minds perhaps many of us long to experience that same happiness and feeling of community.
That is why our "pots" are getting on the table as well!
Kosmorama would like to give you the opportunity to participate in a pleasant, social and intimate dinner at Rica Nidelven. We will set the tables, and as in every large family the pots will be well stocked without anyone lifting a finger. Here, you will have direct access to the dishes and can help yourselves without ever leaving the table.

Concerts and wrapping it up

Friday the 8th of April our premiere is Rune Langlo`s documentary about Roar Strand. After the film we invite you to a genuine "trønder" party in the festival tent, and to a concert with Dag Ingebrigtsen. For owners of the Industry Pass the price is only NOK 100,-
On Saturday we end the festival with Raga Rockers at the town square.

Booking rooms at Rica Nidelven can be done using the application form. The booking is not confirmed until the hotel has contacted you and registered a credit card.
