Ten hopeful film pitchers

For this year’s Kosmorama film pitch competition on the 9th of March ten competitors have been selected. It was at this competition that the successful film “Max Manus” first was noticed.

The competitors for this time around are:
Silje Burgin-Borch
Bård Ivar Engelsås
Henning Gabrielsen
Bjørn-Erik Hanssen
Håvar Karlsen
Aleksander Nordås
Jan Trygve Røyneland
Lindsay Marie Sanner
Aina Elisabeth Skogseid
Vegard Steiro Amundsen

This will be the fifth time Kosmorama invites Norwegian filmmakers to present their idea for a film, in front of an audience.
One of the competitors, Bjørn-Erik Hanssen, has tried his luck in the competition once before. In 2005 his idea for a film later turned into the award winning documentary film “Blod og Ære” (Blood and honour).

The competitors are given seven and a half minute to make an impression, and the same amount of time to answer questions from a jury. This year the jury is made up of Erlend Loe, Karin Julsrud and Harry Guttormsen.

The prize is 100 000 NOK (about $14 000/€11 000), and will be given to the winner at the Kanon Award Show.

For the audience the film pitch competition is both a nerve-wracking and entertaining experience.
