Kosmorama-winner coming to a theater near you

The historic epic about the freedom fighting war-hero Max Manus will fill many seats this Christmas, and it all started at Kosmorama.

During Kosmorama International Film Festival in 2006, Thomas Nordseth-Tiller (28) received the pitch award, the award for the best film pitch, which included a money prize of 100 000 kroner. Sitting in the jury was none other than Liv Ullmann and author Erlend Loe.

They both praised the young man from Lørenskog, who had film education from both USA and Australia. He has closely followed the development from a few lines on a piece of paper, to a multi-million production, starring actors such as Aksel Hennie and Nicolai Cleve Broch.

The film is directed by Espen Sandberg and Joachim Rønning. The producer is the veteran John M. Jacobsen - the man behind classics as Pathfinder, Hard Asphalt and Only Clouds Move the Stars.

It is most enjoyable to see the magnitude of the result of our Pitch competition, states Kosmorama-director Ola Lund Renolen.

For all you inspired pitchers out there, you have the opportunity to participate in 2009, as yet another Pitch competition will take place. The winner will receive 100 000 kroner in development support.

The jury in 2009 will consist of Erlend Loe, Karin Julsrud and Harry Guttormsen.
