Juliette is released from prison after 15 years and goes to stay with her younger sister, Léa, and her family in the French city Nancy. There has been no contact whatsoever between Juliette and the rest of the family while she was inside. Her past is the elephant in the living room - they all have questions to ask but no one dares: What was it that really happened when Juliette caused the death of another person all those years ago? Can Léa trust Juliette? Is it possible for the sisters to find each other again?

Kristin Scott Thomas is phenomenal as the enigmatic Juliette, a woman wounded by life who strives to reconnect with everyday life and people from the past. Director Philippe Claudel makes a solid debut with I’ve Loved You So Long - a film about deep but fragile relations.
