In January this year, Norway won Bocuse D'or, the prestigious cuisine contest that is also called ”the Olympics of cooking”. For five days the chefs fight it out in the French city Lyon and Norway are always among the favourites. This Spanish documentary gives an insight into the preparations for this highly demanding contest as well as the circus that is Bocuse D'or. We follow the Spanish master chef Jesus Almagro in the months leading up to the contest, witnessing his frustrations, his sweat and tears and the critics that taste and lambast one dish after another.

The Chicken, the Fish and the King Crab is a relevant film for Norwegians; not only because of the above mentioned success, but also because two of the main ingredients – fish and king crab – come from Norway. There are interviews with former Norwegian winners Terje Ness and Sven Erik Renaa, judge Eyvind Hellstrøm, and the chief chef himself; Paul Bocuse.
