In One Man Up, we meet two quite dissimilar young men from Naples. While Tony is a self-centred cynic, Antonio is introvert and humble. Tony is making a career as a pop artist and Antonio is a footballer. At the outset of the 1980s the future looks bright for them both. But then both of them experience a shift in fortune: Tony is charged with rape and Antonio suffers a career-wrecking injury. Their success vanishes, and when the two namesakes meet, their life stories are weaved together.
