Other festivals typically have one program manager. Kosmorama, however, has engaged three curators. The reason is quite simply that three minds think broader than one - and three pairs of eyes definetly see more film. Our eminent curators are Eli Gjerde (film- and market manager at Trondheim Cinema), Ola Lund Renolen (festivaldirector of Kosmorama) and Sindre Kartvedt (freelance journalist and author living in Los Angeles) They have been travelling the world for the past five yars, searching for the best of the best at itts film festivals from Venezia, Cannes and Woodstock to Tokyo, Thessaloniki og Pusan.
Together, our creators cover a perspective that reflects the marginal and the mainstram of what the film world has to offer -right in tune with the spirit of Kosmorama. Each curator has picked about twelve films which trace a common thread.

| To Eli, movies offer a portal to the human soul, a terrritory she finds mysterious and impenetrable. She is awarded with all manners of impressive degrees in Nordic languages, litterature, media and journalism, and a masters degree in film studies. Eli is the Programme and Marketing director of Trondheims municipal movie theatres. In other words, she is more than properly equipped for exploring unspoken ambiguities of interpersonal relationships. Furthermore, Eli has a husband, two girls aged 10 and 15 and a cat. Eli loves lazy days, sleeping late, reading, gardening and impressing people with pastry. She loves rain, and therefore she sould thrive under the clouds of Trondheim. |

| Just when he thougt he was out, they pulled him back in. Ola ran the Troms; International Film Festival - very successfully- for years, then moved back home to Trondheim rest on his laurels and devote himself to a cushy desk job running the municipal Department of Culture, get to use his season ticket to Rosenborgs home games, all the while playing with his model trains in the house he shares with his lovely wife and kids. |

Sindre went to high school with Nina and Ola, before he scutteled his academic prospects by instead devoting himself to westerns, war and action movies. Before long, this stunted his emotional growth, just like his mother said they would. Heedlessy, he went off in search of an sunset ride off into, but ended up in Los Angeles - producing an endless array of aricles, books and observations on film, music, mythologies and cowboys. His first and only attempt at attendig a film festival before Kosmorama took place in 1997, when he arrived at the Film Festival in Havanna a week too late, and squandered his travel advance on salsa lessons instead. |
